2nd Palava Swimming Championship
Palava citizens swam their way to success at the 2nd Palava Swimming Championship held on 20th November at all the clubhouses. From age 4 to age 60, we had 125 participants making this tournament a big success.

Palava Badminton Tournament
Palava hosted a badminton tournament on 17th and 18th Sept at all the clubhouses. Over 200 participants played across four clubhouses. Casa Bella Gold won the Inter-club Championship trophy for this year.

Free Football trials was organised by Palava in association with Kenkre Football Academy. Over 250 kids under the age group 6 -16 years from various schools took part in this event. The selected 20 students will win Palava Football Scholarship and get a chance to train by certified football coaches from Kenkre Football Academy.

Palava in association with GolfNext academy hosted the Golf Monsoon tournament at the LODHA GolfLinks Golf Course, Palava's 9-hole golf course. The tournament got overwhelming response from citizens.

Palava conducted workshop to encourage the usage of eco-friendly Ganpati idols. Citizens learnt the art of making eco-friendly Ganpati idols by the expert Sudhir Udgirkar himself. Citizen sculpted their own idol merely out of clay.

First Carrom Tournament at Palava
Palava hosted its first Carrom Tournament on 24th July at the Lodha World School. National player Janhavi More chased the queen alongside the citizens at Palava's first carrom tournament. The tournament saw skilled strikers Vishal Salvi and Hrithik Pandey take away the winning trophies.

Merasis enthrall Palava!
Merasi, a community from Northwestern Rajasthan, known for their musical legacy for over 800 years was hosted at Palava by its enthusiastic citizens! The Renaissance group, founded by Vaibhav Kulkarni and Anand Das, along with Zainub S, hosted these traditional artists for an evening of musical flair at the Lodha World School. Joining hands with Folk Arts Rajasthan and Lok Kala Sagar Sansthan, citizens raised substantial funds to contribute towards the noble cause of preserving the community's distinct folk sound whilst educating the young children. It was indeed an evening to remember!

Abhijit Kunte plays checkmate with Palava
Palava hosted its first Chess Tournament that saw sharp minds, young and old, play their smart moves in this battle of minds. Held across several age group categories - U-7, U-9, U-11, U-13, U-15 and the open category, the top three players from each got to make their moves against Indian Grandmaster Abhijit Kunte. While Kunte remained unbeaten, Sunday saw some pro moves beat the sharpest of strategies.

Week long celebrations of International Yoga Day!
Palava celebrated International Yoga Day on 21st of June with a refreshing yoga hour with citizen yoga guru, Ranbir Thakur. Citizens came together to practice healing asanas and soothe mind in the peaceful surroundings of the city. The weekend saw yoga classes conducted by gurus from Art of Living.

Keep fit with the Summer Camp
An exciting summer camp was held through the month of May to beat the summer blues. With golf, football, cricket, badminton and swimming on offer, children could choose to train in the sport of their choice. Under the watchful guidance of expert coaches from reputed institutions such as Kenkre Football Academy, Cricket India Academy, Indian Golf Union and others, participants were coached through the month to hone their skills in their various sports. Held across the Palava football stadium, Palava cricket ground, 9-hole golf course and club houses, the summer camp keep everyone on their feet!

PCMA introduces Fun-tastic Streets!
Sundays at Palava will be filled with excitement at Palava's Fun-tastic Street, a street free of cars and full of activities! The first edition of this initiative saw citizens bond over Zumba, learn skating skills, children display force defying karate stunts, watch live bike stunts and more! The morning, that began at 7 a.m. only got more enthusiastic until it concluded at 11 a.m. This will be a weekly activity for the citizens at Palava.

2nd Go Green initiative delights nature at Golflinks!
Golflinks was delighted to host the 2nd Go Green initiative that saw over 40 enthusiastic citizens join hands to plant near 100 coconut trees around the lake at the golf course. The energy and passion of both young and old beat the scorching sun to achieve this feat in just a few hours. They celebrated thereafter by giving three cheers to themselves and the initiative. Kudos to one and all!

Healthspring comes to Palava
Healthspring, India's leading experts in family healthcare, hosted free healthcamps over the weekends of May at Club Bella Gold and Casa Rio Club. The camps provided free blood pressure check, daily calorie intake, body mass index, bone mass and more. Healthspring launched its first primary healthcare clinic in Palava on 8th of June at Casa Rio. The clinic presently houses a physician, pathology lab and visiting physiotherapist. It will shortly have an ENT specialist, gynaecologist, pediatrician, dentist and orthopedic. It will also offer x-ray, sonography and other medical services. The clinic will continue to conduct regular health camps which will be free for all citizens.

PCMA kickstarts a Go Green Initiative at Palava!
Last Saturday witnessed nature lovers of Palava join hands to plant saplings across Casa Rio. This was the first batch of the Go Green initiative begun by PCMA. The batch saw 30 citizens come together with the team of Palava and plant 40 saplings. Moving forward, until the first week of June, every Saturday morning, PCMA will host sapling planting activities across Palava to nurture the environment. Become a part of this initiative and spread the joy of green in your neighbourhood!

Mother's Day Celebrations and more at the 3rd Casa Carnival!
Mother's Day was celebrated in pomp and flare at Palava as it hosted its 3rd Casa Carnival! With spectacular dance performances, flash mob and a variety of goodies and accessories to shop from, the carnival made sure everyone was entertained. Though the highlight of the evening was the fashion show! Held for the first time at the carnival, mothers walked the ramp with their little ones amidst loud cheer and applause from friends and family. It was a delight to spend a funfilled Sunday over delicious food and foot tapping music!

12th THANE PASSIONATE GOLFERS TOURNAMENT
Thane Passionate Golfers organized the 12th edition of Thane Passionate Golfers Tournament at Lodha Golflinks, Club G on Sunday, 8th May 2016. The event saw active participation from the top echelons of the corporate and business community with 22 registered participants all being members of Indian Golf Union (IGU). Mr. S. Ananthan was the winner and Mr. Arul Nambi (Member of Club G, Lodha Golflinks, Palava) was the runner-up of the tournament. The longest drive was won by Mr. Arun Iyer while Mr. Vinayak Gijare hit it closest to the pin. “Thane Passionate Golfers”, founded by a Group of Golf Enthusiast in and around Thane. Their main purpose is to promote the game of Golf and organise regular golf tournaments.

2nd funfilled Casa Carnival!
The Rio Amphitheatre was brought alive last Sunday with funfilled entertainment at the Casa Carnival! Held for the second time, the carnival saw enthusiastic citizens showcase their art and craft skills, support NGOs and serve delicious food from 40 booths created at the event. Everyone cheered for dance performances, played fun games and were treated to a surprise, a dynamic flash mob, which was the highlight of the evening!

The first Palava Women's Cricket League
On the first weekend of April, Palava hosted its first T20 Women's Cricket League. Catching onto the then ongoing T20 fever, the women showed their prowess at the pitch with sharp spins and master strokes. The finals saw Bella Stunners clash with Bella Thunders and the former took home the winning trophy by putting up a tally of 66 runs. Mrs. Meenu Sharma Kamat was named 'Player of the tournament'.

Palava Corporate Challenge 2016
The first ever Palava Corporate Challenge saw 32 teams battle it out on the field on Saturday, 5th and Sunday, 6th March. The stadium roared with spectators cheering for their favourite teams while they played on the FIFA standard turf! Team INTELENET took home the trophy awarded by the ‘Black Pearl’ of Indian Football, I.M. Vijayan along with ace Indian goalkeeper, Dinesh Nair.

Superbike Rally at Palava!
Palava hosted an exciting Superbike Rally on Sunday, 28th February. Near sunrise Harley Davidsons, BMWs and others rode through Palava for a Road Safety training session hosted for the riders. The training concluded with refreshments at The Casa Rio Club and chat with the citizens.

Over 800 residents throng at the fun-filled Casa Carnival
Casa Carnival, a first of its kind resident fun-fair was organised by PCMA at the Casa Bella Gold cricket ground on 21st January 2016. Over 800 residents poured in from all over Casa Bella Gold neighbourhood. 20 stalls were put up by Bella Gold residents that offered food, accessories, apparels, games and entertainment. This event is a part of PCMA’s initiatives to make weekends fun and engaging for Palava residents. Similar events are planned for other neighbourhoods like Casa Rio and Casa Rio Gold. Akhil Mathur, Head - Citizen citizen centre on behalf of PCMA, took the opportunity to felicitate 19 kids from Palava who have recently won medals at the 21st Asian & International World Funakoshi Shotokan Karate Organisation (WFSKO) cup Karate championship.

Storytelling by Emily Hennessey at Palava
This Feb 14th kids at Palava were treated to an exciting journey of stories at Lodha World School, Palava. PCMA in collaboration with British Council conducted a storytelling event by award winning performance storyteller Emily Hennessey of UK. The session was enjoyed by both children and parents accompanying them. Emily Hennessey is a performance storyteller who ingeniously places the ancient art of storytelling in a contemporary context. She shares the magic of creating and telling stories using ones imagination, voice and body.

Opening ceremony of the Casa Rio Ganesha temple
A Ganesha temple at Rio was inaugurated ceremoniously on 9 February 2016. The ceremony continued for three days, starting with Vastu pooja of the temple to the idol installation and then the first Arti at the beautifully designed temple. Several residents participated enthusiastically for all the days, joining together for the various rituals.

Run Palava Run – a marathon to commemorate the 67th Republic Day of India
A series of events were organised to showcase talent across Palava on Jan 24th & Jan 26th. All the events were initiated by Palava residents and supported by PCMA. Run Palava Run – the city’s marathon with a 5km run and a 10km run saw participation from over 40 residents.

Excellencia of Bella wins Palava Premier League cricket tournament
Palava organized its 4th edition of the Palava Premier League cricket tournament over 23rd, 24th and 26th January, 2016 at the Palava Panthers Cricket Ground, Rio. A total of 23 teams participated in the tournament which was double of last year. The tournament was played during the day as well as under floodlights. The final was played between two strong contending teams from Bella, Excellencia and Suprema. A crowd of over 200 were present at the stands to witness the thrilling finale. We had a scintillating finish to the finals wherein Suprema needed 11 runs in 1 over and Excellencia captain bowled a magnificent last over conceding just 4 runs to clinch the PPL trophy 2016. The winning and the runners-up team, and the best performing individuals were awarded at the post-match presentation ceremony. • Man of the Match (Final) – Nagesh from Excellencia for his match winning last over and keeping his cool in the crunch situation that lead his team to victory • Best Batsman – Balkrishna Patil from Suprema for scoring match winning knocks for his team. • Best Bowler – Uday from Excellencia for being the strike bowler for his team and for bowling economically in all the matches. • Man of the Series – Ashok from Muriel for giving an all-round performance in all the matches and guiding his team to semi-finals.

Palava Swimming Championship
First ever Palava Swimming Championship

Palava City Management Association (PCMA) organised its first ever Palava Swimming Championship on 10th Jan at Casa Bella and Casa Bella Gold for all the residents of Palava. It was a grand success with 112 participation across the clubs. The tournament was conducted by an International Long Distance Swimmer, Rupali Repale and her team. She also holds a World Record for being the first Indian and the youngest girl to swim across seven channels.
The tournament winners were decided based on their lap time which was judged by the experts in the sport. Medals and certificates were given to the top three places in all the multiple age categories along with a participation certificate to every participant. The senior citizen club dignitaries of Palava were the chief guests for the prize distribution ceremony. The guest list included Dr. Patki (President), Dr. Mohan Dhanrale (Vice President), Mrs. Vandana Dhanrale (Member) and Mrs. Sushila Rathi (Member) along with Rupali Repale.

A kite making workshop was organised at Lodha World School, Palava on January 9th followed by kite flying. The activity was conducted by an international kite flying expert. More than 130 residents attended the colourful and engaging event.

8th edition of Thane Passionate Golfers
My GolfTours in association with GolfNext Services Pvt. Ltd. organized the 8th edition of the Thane Passionate Golfers Tournament at Lodha Golflinks, Club G

The event saw active participation from the top echelons of the corporate and business community with 19 registered participants.

The longest drive was won by Mr. Vishal Dalvi while Mr. Amod Dahat hit it closest to the pin. Mr. Shekhar Joshi was the runner-up and Mr. Sudeep Pasbola won the tournament which was played on Modified Stableford format.

Palava City Management Association (PCMA) hosted Palava Tarang, a mega-festival of Arts and Culture at Palava during 21st Nov to 19th Dec 2015. The festival brought together a line-up of legendary artists from the field of Hindustani classical music and theater. The event drew more than 1000 music enthusiasts from across Mumbai.

Clothes and Toys donation drive - A Palava Residents initiative

Palava Social Responsibility Group, with the help of PCMA

Dear All Palava Residents,
Thank you very much for your help and support for the donation drive which was conducted from 7th Dec 2015 to 20th Dec 2015.
Please find the updates below.

As you are aware, Clothes, Warmers, Toys and Newspapers were collected from the Palava residents. At the end, all the collected items were segregated into appropriate bags. Below is a high level collection details (appx. figures).
16 large size bags of clothes
32 medium size bags of clothes
3 large size bags of toys
500 Kg of newspapers

Clothes in bad condition and newspapers were sold to scrap dealers and fund raised with this was used to purchase below items.
2 medium size bags of new toys
72 story books
48 educational books
Clothes, Warmers and Toys were donated to Adivasi tribes at Vehlonde village in Tansa forest, about 65 Kms away from Palava, on 20th December 2015. For donation, team has approached 5 brick kilns at Vehlonde village which covered 4 Adivasi Padas. Each Adivasi Pada comprises appx. 20 Adivasi families and each Adivasi family comprise average 6 members. So in total team has reached out to about 500 Adivasi villagers.

50% toys (appx.) were donated to Zilla Parishad School, Vehlonde to create toys library for school children and to attract more Adivasi kids to school for education. Story books and educational books will be donated to Zilla Parishad School, Vehlonde for the books library by 2nd week of January 2016.

On behalf of Palava Social Responsibility Group, I would like to thank each and every Palava resident who has, directly or indirectly, contributed for the donation drive. Being the first donation drive at Palava, the response was huge and beyond expectation. This has proved that Palava has kind, sensible and matured heart. Once again thank you all and we look forward for your support for our future drives.

We would like thank Rajyog Foundation, a NGO based out at Dombivli, and its team - Dr. Rahul Ghatwal (Founder & President) and Mr. Sashank Joshi (Administrator) for their guidance and support throughout the drive.

5th Arsenal Soccer Schools Tournament 2015
India on Track organized its 5th Arsenal Soccer Schools Tournament on 12th December, 2015 at the Palava Titans Football Turf. It was a grand success with more than 130 registrations and tremendous response from all the players.
The tournament had different age categories; Under 9, Under 13 and Under 17. The time duration for each match was 15 mins. Also the matches were played on 3 different fields across the turf where each field had its own manager, a coach for each team and MDFA referees which made the tournament interesting. The players were from within Palava, Thane, Mulund, Andheri and Chembur.

There were 3 categories in the tournament:-

2nd mega-trials of IOT-Arsenal Soccer Schools Development Centre at Palava
The second IOT-Arsenal Soccer Schools’ Development Program trials held on 21st Nov saw phenomenal response with over 100 young football enthusiasts thronging the Palava Titans FIFA certified turf. The trials were supervised by four UEFA PRO International coaches headed by Romero from Spain. The participation for trials was mainly from Thane, Navi Mumbai, Kalyan, Vasai and as far as Western Mumbai region. The kids competed under the age categories of U9, U12 and U16. Now, the selected players will be given an opportunity to be part of the IOT-Arsenal Soccer Schools Development Center at Palava and avail various guaranteed talent-based scholarships from PCMA The first of its kind in Maharashtra, this program will create a platform for talented kids to reach higher levels of the football circuit in India by offering them structured training and scholarships. Also enabling the economically less privileged to have the same opportunity.

2nd State Level Karate Championship at Palava
2nd State Level Karate Championship 2015 conducted in Palava on 18th October saw a tremendous response. The tournament held at Lodha World School was organised by World Funakoshi Shotokan Karate Organisation (WFSKO) which is recognised by Govt. of India and Indian Olympic Association. It was a grand success with more than 120 participations. The players came from Nagpur, Pune, Mumbai, Thane, Dombivali and Palava which made the tournament highly competitive. From Palava, we had 49 Karate Champions competing in the tournament and all of them did a fantastic job. Palava received 18 gold medals, 12 silver and 19 bronze medals.

On the occasion of National Sports Day on August 29, we at Palava celebrated with 7-a-side Football Tournament for all the Palava residents. It was a friendly tournament which took place at the Palava Titans Football Turf. We got a very good response from the residents. In all, 6 teams competed against each other. We had 3 teams from Casa Bella, 1 team from Casa Bella Gold & 2 teams from Casa Rio. The shorter and exciting format made the matches even more thrilling. 7-a-side format is setting in very strongly and people have started loving it more.

The Independence day at Palava
Independence Day was celebrated across Palava with lot of fanfare and enthusiasm. Flag hoisting Drill, National Anthem followed by Scholarships and Award distribution and Tree plantation drive were the key activities that Palava was busy on the morning of Independence Day.

4th ARSENAL SOCCER SCHOOLS TOURNAMENT 2015

    Team Smt. Singhania School 1 won this category. Team Smt. Singhania School 2 were the runners-up. Viraj Damarla was honored with the Most Valuable Player tag. Avaneesh Deolekar from Smt. Singhania School 1 was the top scorer in this age category.
  2. U-12
    6 teams
    Team Karmveer Sports Complex were the winners and Team Khar Gymkhana were the runners-up. Aditya Seth was named the Most Valuable player for his all round skills and Kabir Sabharwal was the top scorer in this category.
  3. U-16
    6 teams
    Team Smt. Singhania School 1 won this category. Team Smt. Singhania School 2 were the runners-up. Yash Tungar was named the Most Valuable player and Sashwat Sandeep was the top scorer in this category.

Pune FC trials at Palava Titans Football Turf
Pune FC trials in association with Navi Mumbai Football Club (NMFC) held at Palava Titans FIFA certified turf on 20th July saw a massive turnout of over 400 kids. The kids who competed against each other in U19 and U17 age categories had come from Mumbai and its surrounding areas, Nashik, Delhi, UP and Punjab. The preliminary round of trials was supervised by NMFC coaches along with the Pune FC technical officials. The final round will be held in Pune.

Premiership Football League kicks off at Palava
The English Premier League and UEFA Champions league may be over, but the frenzy is all set to spill on to FIFA certified Palava Titans Football Turf, where Premiership Football League (PFL)organised by Navi Mumbai Football Club and Academyaffiliated by Thane District Football Association has began.

An opening ceremony was held on 5th June at Palavawhere more than 300 peoplewitnessed the inaugural match between the top two teams of the league All Stars African Utd andNavi Mumbai Football Club (NMFC). The match turned out to be a high voltage thriller. First goal was scored by the favourites African Utd in the second half which was followed by second goal immediately after 7 minutes. The African team seemed to take control of the game but there was a sudden twist in the game wherein NMFC team scored two goals at a stretch thus levelling the score. The match ended in a draw. It was a fitting start to the league. For the next two days, Saturday and Sunday, the matches went off with the same intensity. It is just a start, the drama will continue now in the coming weekend.

PFL is a 3-month mega event with 125 matches being played under floodlights and more than 700 participants will be playing at Palava Titans Football Turf in Premiership football league. The 28 teams will be competing against each other to won the coveted PFL trophy and cash prize.Also the players playing in PFL will be monitored by the professional clubs around the city.

Trials for India on Track-Arsenal Soccer Schools Development Program
The first IOT-Arsenal Soccer Schools’ Youth Development Program trials held on May 16th and 17th saw a phenomenal response with over 200 young football enthusiasts thronging the Palava Titans FIFA certified turf.

The kids that came from within Palava, Thane, Navi Mumbai, Kalyan and as far as Western Mumbai (Andheri, Bandra, Santacruz, Malad, Goregaon) competed against each other under the age groups of Under 9, Under 12 and Under 16. The trial rounds were supervised by UEFA PRO Coach Ibon Labaien Soto from Spain.

Now, the best 100 players across age categories will be called for the final round of trials on 30th May post which, the best 25-30 kids, based on talent, will be given an opportunity to be part of the IOT-Arsenal Soccer Schools Development Center at Palava and avail various guaranteed talent-based scholarships. The program will run for a year with trials being held every three months.

The first of its kind in Maharashtra, this program will create a platform for talented kids to reach the higher levels of the football circuit in India by offering them structured training and scholarships to enable even the less economically privileged to have the same opportunity.

4th THANE PASSIONATE GOLFERS TOURNAMENT
Thane Passionate Golfers organized "4th Thane Passionate Golfers Tournament" at Lodha Golflinks, Club G.

The tournament was played on Stableford Scoring Format. The event saw active participation from the top echelons of the corporate and business community with 22 registered participants, 14 IGU and 8 Non-IGU members.

The winner of Group "A" was Mr. Binod Kellapan and runner-up was Mr. Paras Gada. The winner of Group “B” was Mr. Jitendra Ghughal and runner-up was Mr. Ajay Khadke.

"Thane Passionate Golfers", founded by a Group of Golf Enthusiast in and around Thane. Their main purpose is to promote the game of Golf and organise regular golf tournaments.

3rd ARSENAL SOCCER SCHOOLS TOURNAMENT 2015
India on Track organized its 3rd Arsenal Soccer Schools Tournament on 1st May, 2015 at the Palava Titans Football Turf. It was a grand success with more than 150 registrations and tremendous response from all the players.

The tournament had different age categories: Under 9, Under 12 and Under 16. The time duration for each match was 15 mins. Also the matches were played on 3 different fields across the turf where each field had its own manager, a coach for each team and referees which made the tournament engaging and interesting. The players were from within Palava, Thane, Mulund, Andheri and Chembur. It was a tournament thoroughly enjoyed by both kids and parents.

There were 3 categories in the tournament:
  1. U-9
    5 teams
    Team Cazorla won this category who had players like Shaun John and Rushil Lakdawala from Palava. Team Chamberlain were the runners-up. Agastya Singh was honoured with the ‘Most Valuable Player’ tag. Eashan Sartape from Palava was the top scorer in this age category.
  2. U-12
    4 teams
    Team Gibbs were the winners and Team Mertesacker were the runners-up. Beni Jambar from the winning team was named the Most Valuable player for his all round skills and also he was the top scorer in this category.
  3. U-15
    4 teams
    Team Giroud won this category. Team Welbeck were the runners-up. Deep Bhandari, the top scorer in this category and Aatish Munde from Palava were part of the winning team. Hrithik Asrani from the runners-up team was named the Most Valuable Player.

The tournament was played on a Best of Four Ball Format. The event saw active participation from the top echelons of the corporate and business community with 24 registered participants. Yogesh Shukla from Thane was the winner of the tournament.

Palava Badminton Tournament 2015
Palava organized its Annual Badminton Tournament in Club Casa Bella on 31st January and 1st February, 2015. It was a grand success with 172 registrations and tremendous response from all the players.

The tournament had a single-elimination format. The top seeded players, viz. the quarter finalists from the last edition of the tournament were allocated games in different brackets which made the tournament more competitive. The finals were played as best of 3 sets, 21 point games.

There were 6 categories in the tournament:
  1. U-16 Boys
    12 Registrations
    S.Abhibhavan from Casa Bella was the winner and Ritik Chandrani took the silver medal.

  2. U-16 Girls
    8 Registrations
    Riya Salaria from Casa Bella won the gold medal and Chandani was the runner up.

  3. Singles – Men
    60 Registrations
    Ayush Jain from Casa Bella Gold won the Men’s title while Vinu Menon, also from Casa Bella Gold was the runner up.

  4. Singles – Women
    14 Registrations
    Trisha Ghorpade from Casa Bella, 3-time winner, once again won the gold medal while Seema Paricharak from Golflinks was the runner up.

  5. Doubles – Men
    50 Registrations (25 Teams)
    The team of Archit Jain and Nikhil Handoo from Casa Bella defeated the team of Nalineesh Pandey and Avaneesh Pandey from Casa Bella Gold.

  6. Mixed Doubles
    24 Registrations (12 Teams)
    The team of Amber Dewasthali and Trisha Ghorpade from Casa Bella won the gold medal, while the team of Archit Jain and Rohini Shinde won the silver medal.

The 2nd Arsenal Soccer Schools Tournament at the Palava Football Turf was held on 31st January, 2015. It was a grand success with more than 175 registrations and tremendous response from all the players.

The tournament had different age categories; Under 9, Under 12 and Under 15 and each team had its own coach. The time duration for each match was 15 minutes and the matches were played on 3 different fields across the turf with each field having its own manager and referees. All the finals played under different categories went to Penalty shootouts which gave a thrilling end to the tournament. It was an engaging tournament thoroughly enjoyed by both kids and parents.

The 3 categories in the tournament:
  1. U-9
    8 teams
    Team Chamberlain won this category which had players like Eashan Sartape and Lokshiva Abhijay from Palava. Team Wilshere comprising of Om Panwalkar, Aron Matthew, Arnav Tiwari and Aditya Kumar from Palava took the runners up place. Eashan Sartape was the top scorer.

  2. U-12
    6 teams
    Team Bergkamp was the winner and Team Henry was the runners up. Julian Koide from Karmaveer, Andheri was named the Most Valuable player for his all round skills and he was also the top scorer in this category.

  3. U-15
    5 teams
    Team Monreal and Team Debuchy were declared joint winners as there was a tie even after the penalty shootouts. Ashley Ranweer from Palava was part of Team Monreal. Singhania players, Dhruv Yagnik and Tarun Karamchandani were the top scorer and the most valuable player respectively.

Palava Premier League, 2015
Palava organized its 3rd edition of the PALAVA PREMIER LEAGUE cricket tournament from 24thto 26th of January, 2015 at the newly developed Palava Panthers Cricket Ground at Casa Rio. The tournament was 11 a side with 3 substitutes and was conducted on a league format for the Group stages and a knock-out format for the Quarterfinals and Semifinals. A total of 12 teams participated in the tournament - 8 teams from Casa Bella, 2 from Casa Bella Gold and 2 from Casa Rio - and were divided into 4 groups. The group stages were played as 6-over inning matches and the semis and the finals were 7-over inning matches each. The tournament was played during the day as well as under floodlights.

The final was played between Magnifica and Rest of Casa Rio. A strong crowd of around 150 was present to watch the spectacle. It was a thrilling encounter between these two very strong sides. Magnifica scored 90 runs in their allotted 7 overs. Casa Rio started the chase with a slow start. Needing 21 runs off the last 4 balls, Casa Rio batsman, Rajesh hit three consecutive sixes and with the help of some extras, Casa Rio reached the target with just one ball to spare to end the encounter with a nail-biting finish.

The prize-distribution ceremony was held on 27th of January in Club Bella Gold. The guest of honour was Amol Muzumdar, former Mumbai Ranji captain. He is an 8-time Ranji trophy winner, 2nd highest run scorer ever in Indian domestic cricket and a “world record” holder for most runs scored in an innings on debut (260 runs).

    The winning and the runners-up teams, and the best performing individuals were awarded.
  • Man of the Match (Final) – Rajesh from Casa Rio for his match winning innings of 51 not out off 17 balls which included 8 sixes.
  • Best Batsman – Jeet from Casa Rio for scoring 224 runs of 59 balls, which included 32 sixes throughout the tournament.
  • Best Bowler – Gaurang from Magnifica for scalping 11 wickets in 5 matches.
  • Man of the Series – Jeet from Casa Rio for scoring 224 runs and picking up 4 wickets as well.

The Cambridge International School Sports Workshop
Palava in association with IOT – Arsenal Soccer Schools & Golfnext Services Pvt. Ltd. organized a “Sports Workshop” at Palava for the students of ‘The Cambridge International School, Kalyan’.

36 enthusiastic students attended this workshop which comprised of Football & Golf sessions of one hour each. The Football session started with a presentation followed by basic drills of Football like passing, dribbling, shooting and penalty training. The session was conducted by Spanish coaches, Mr. Miguel Vidal & Mr. Juanjo Royan. The Golf session started with an introduction to a golf round followed by the basics of Golf, i.e., grip, posture, swing, etc. on the golf course. The Golf session was conducted by NGAI certified coaches, Mr. Prashant Dhummal & Mr. Pravin Dhummal.

Kabir Festival 11th January Sunday
Padmashree award winner and renowned exponent of Kabir s music, Prahlad Singh Tipanya, took the stage at Palava singing some of Kabir s best-known poetry and playing the tambura and kartal. He kept the audience engaged and mesmerized them with his explanations and insight into the meaning of the verses speckling the prose with timely humour and appropriate wisdom covering a range of insightful topics in Kabir s compositions.

We celebrated Christmas with enthusiastic puppeteer and storyteller Usha Venkatraman featuring multi-cultural Christmas tales from Ireland, Russia, Europe, North America and Britain. The event was attended by 250+ residents. Mumbai City FC
In a run up to Indian Super League, the Mumbai City FC team had their first team session at Palava. Owned by Ranbir Kapoor and Bimal Parekh, the team boasts of international stars and domestic talent. Ex-Arsenal legend and former captain of the Swedish National team, Freddie Ljungberg, former French National player and winner of the Premier League Golden Boot 2008-2009, Nicolas Anelka, ex-Borussia Dortmund defender and German National player, Manuel Freidrich, Argentinean Diego Nadaya and the current Indian National goal keeper, Subrata Pal form the nucleus of this star studded team headed by the ex-Everton icon, Peter Reid as coach. The squad spent the entire day at Palava beginning with a special workshop and training session for about 70 kids which was conducted by Assistant Coach, Steve Darby, an ESPN Star Sports pundit. The children were thrilled to receive training from their idols. They also had their special moment by taking autographs and clicking pictures with the team. Post workshop Mumbai City FC had a gala time while enjoying a game of golf at Club G.

Arsenal Soccer School at Palava
Enrolment for regular football training from Arsenal Soccer Schools is now open at Palava. Free workshops are being conducted since 8th September. The training will be led by a foreign, UEFA certified coach. The Arsenal Soccer Schools’ global training and development curriculum will be followed throughout the year across age groups. PCMA is giving scholarships up to 40% of the total cost of the programme to the first 36 enrolments. Children will also get opportunities to represent the official Arsenal Soccer Schools India team(s) and to participate in scouting programmes and professional trials both in India and abroad. Palava in association with Rotaract Club of Saraswati College had the first ever external football tournament called "MAD OVA SOCCER” in Palava. It was a football carnival with 32 teams participating and over 600 individual football players coming to Palava from as far as Pune. The team from Ambernath won the tournament.

Football camp with Arsenal Soccer Schools
Football enthusiasts had a very unique opportunity - the chance to learn from the big league professionals. The open-to-all football training camp was conducted by Arsenal Soccer Schools, a world-class football training academy set up by Arsenal FC, one of the most successful English Premier League soccer team. Led by Garry Guyan, a UEFA certified coach; every participant received a certificate signed by the Arsenal Football Club Manager at the end of the camp. An interactive match session with the parents of the participants to conclude the camp made it even more memorable. A total of 50 kids participated in this camp.
